About the Family
This Hillsborough-based family is seeking a mature, highly-educated, and polished nanny for their 7-year-old son. Their sporty and curious boy thrives in a structured environment with clear routines and intellectually engaging activities. The family is looking for a professional caregiver who can function as both a nurturing presence and an academic mentor, offering support with studies and ensuring a safe, stimulating daily routine while parents are at work.
While this is a summer position for now (June 3–July 12, with potential extension through July), they are hoping to continue with the right candidate long-term starting in August.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be confident, well-presented, and bring strong teaching or tutoring skills to the role. This person should be proactive, organized, and have excellent communication skills. A background in education or early childhood development is highly preferred. The family values professionalism, experience, and someone who is prepared to step into the role with independence and maturity. Candidates must also be comfortable managing the schedule independently, including transportation to and from day camp and coordinating afternoon educational activities.
Childcare Duties
Morning and evening routines for one child (7-year-old boy)
Transport to and from summer camp
Preparing snacks and meals for the child
Afternoon learning activities and light tutoring
Engaging in structured play, reading, and screen-free time
Supporting bedtime routine
Requirements
Native English speaker
US Passport holder
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Highly experienced with nanny or teaching roles (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
Well-presented and professional demeanor
Must be confident, independent, and capable of supporting a gifted child’s development
Open to summer-only with long-term potential starting August 4
Must-Haves
Minimum of 5 years of recent, professional nanny experience
College Degree
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Confident driver with a valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including trips up to one month at a time
Legal authorization to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship or valid work visa)
CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
Fully vaccinated, including COVID-19 (and boosters), flu, and Tdap
Willingness to undergo TrustLine, Nanny Verify, and DMV background checks
Outstanding references from past employers demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and strong childcare skills
