PERSONALIZED NANNY PLACEMENT

HELPING YOU FIND YOUR PERFECT MATCH

Hiring a nanny is more than just finding childcare, it’s inviting someone into your life.

We know firsthand how difficult it can be to find the right match, which is why we invest the time to really understand who you are looking for.

At the end of the day, we are not going through a database of nannies in your zip code, we are personally matching your family with one of our trusted caregivers. What that means to you is we really listen, so we can find you the best fit for your family.

We create a personal relationship with your family to help us understand your unique needs. With your best interest as our #1 priority, our team builds a long term relationship with your family that is above and beyond the typical checklist or nanny placement process.

Every one of our nannies are personally interviewed by us to ensure they fit the mold of a Genuine Nanny and are a match for your family!

OUR PROCESS

We have a hands on approach
to the matching process.

Our thoughtful approach is what sets us apart from other nanny agencies.

  • This is a critical part of our process and what separates Genuine Nannies from other agencies. Having the ability to meet you and your family via a live video chat to learn more about your family’s unique dynamics and expectations will allow us to have a clearer vision of your ideal nanny.

We will discuss in detail what qualities are important to you and what type of person you envision for this job. We will also discuss the nanny’s schedule, on-the-job expectations, personality attributes, and family philosophies.

  • Once there is a clear understanding of what you are looking for in a nanny, the process of interviewing potential candidates begins. Each nanny is put through a three-part interview process.

This process includes a phone interview, a face-to-face interview and a thorough reference check. Once there are qualified candidates that match your description, you will receive their detailed Nanny Profiles. Each Nanny Profile includes a comprehensive summary of the nanny’s background, qualifications, and work-related experience.

  • Once you and your family have decided that you are interested in a candidate(s), we introduce you to them through email so you can coordinate a good time to meet the candidates through a live video interview where you can meet each other face to face to see if it is a good fit for you both.

This is your chance to learn as much as you can about each candidate to determine how they would fit into your family. Your post-interview feedback is essential in the process moving forward with the search process.

  • You can choose one or more candidates to ask back for a meet & greet at a local park or backyard adventure. This helps give you a better picture of how this person would fit in your household before a paid working trial period begins. This is an opportunity to connect with the nanny and see how the chemistry is between you and the children.

The paid working trial period is a great opportunity to acclimate the nanny in your home, set expectations and observe how they interact with your child(ren) and the rest of your family on a typical day.

  • If you decide you would like to officially hire our genuine nanny, you will want to provide him/her with an initial verbal offer followed by a written conditional work offer. This agreement will include everything from the nanny’s schedule, on-the-job expectations, pay rate, benefits, and completion of any certificates, background checks or vaccinations. A detailed family/nanny conditional work offer is provided during this phase of the process.

  • The candidate starts their rigorous screening process with us on day one. Included with that process are a minimum of 3 applicable reference checks as well as document verification. The first background check is done before the nanny officially starts work in your home.

The second is done through Trustline, once the nanny is hired. Trustline is administered by the California’s Department of Social services including the Department of Justice and FBI. Results include a criminal, social security, county and if applicable, driving record report and may take up to four weeks to process.

  • This is one of the things that make your experience with Genuine Nannies truly unique. We are committed to helping throughout your term with your nanny. You may reach out to us anytime if you need advice, communication, collaboration or renegotiation of contract terms. Should you have a lapse in care or need standby childcare, we can provide temporary or on-call babysitters as well.

FAQs

  • Genuine Nannies offers a personalized matching service because we understand that the difference between a good match and a great match is finding the right chemistry between a family and a nanny.

Of course there needs to be a fit with schedule and experience, and we go that extra step to find personalities that connect. We want to help families find an attentive and caring nanny who can smoothly step in and embrace their home environment.

We also want to help nannies find families that truly appreciate their unique talents and flair. Our commitment to you is to do our very best to find you the perfect match.

  • Many of our nannies are found through referral or direct recruiting. We also have nannies that come to us because of our established reputation for integrity and professionalism.

We always recruit on an individual basis so that we can find a nanny with the right combination of availability, experience, skills and personality characteristics to match with the specific needs of your family. Our goal is to not only match on job specifications but also to find a good personality fit for everyone involved.

We do not pull from a database of nanny profiles except for temporary candidates. This ensures we always have up-to-date information on certifications and background checks and that we are working with nannies who are actively looking for employment.

  • Our first requirement is that the nanny possess a genuine interest in working with children. The nannies you meet though us will have completed a comprehensive profile as well as a detailed phone and in-person interviews. We speak to each reference at length and write up a detailed summary.

In addition to verifying recent work experience and CPR certification, we arrange to have every hired candidate’s fingerprints registered though Trustline, California’s background check for in-home childcare providers. All background checks include DMV records, social security verification and a criminal record check for the nanny’s primary country of residence.

  • Bay Area Full-time and part-time nannies who live-out typically earn between $35-$45 gross per/hr.($25-$35 gross in Southern California). Live-in nannies typically earn a slightly lower rate with flexibility depending on the arrangement.

We can help advise you on compensation and benefits. For a full-time nanny, typical benefits include paid vacation, sick pay, holiday pay and guaranteed hours. Hourly rates are generally based on the nanny’s prior experience and payrate, qualifications, training and education, specific job duties and expectations around childcare and the household.

  • There is an initial non-refundable $400 registration fee which is due after our initial consultation if you would like to move forward with the search. This is deducted from the overall referral fee which is due when you hire a nanny that we have recommended to you. Referral fees vary depending on the type of hire; full-time, part-time, live-in etc.

  • Every situation is different and we can accommodate last minute requests but because we go to such great lengths to find you the perfect fit for your family, we recommend allowing 2-6 weeks to complete the process depending on the details of your search. We can also help you with a temporary nanny if you are in a bind to help give you the time needed to find the right nanny for the long-term.

  • Our promise to you is to do our very best to find you the best fit for your family.

Our rigorous screening and matching process ensures a lasting connection although should you decided that the fit is not right our guarantee means that we jump right back in for you to find what you are looking for. For your peace of mind, Genuine Nannies offers to guarentees to fit your needs.

You can choose either a 3mo. or a full 1-year guarentee for a new search in the event that the family-nanny arrangement ends. We take pride in our process and stand behind our commitment to match your family with someone that has the GN stamp of approval!
