THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Rose Family!
About the Family
A warm, active, and close-knit San Francisco family is looking for an exceptional full-time Nanny / Family Assistant to join their household long-term. They are currently based in Pacific Heights and will soon be moving into a larger home in Presidio Heights.
The family has two young children: a 2-year-old boy, turning 3 in October and beginning preschool this September, and his 6-month-old baby sister. Once their son begins school from approximately 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, much of the nanny’s daytime focus will shift toward caring for the baby, while continuing to support both children and the household as a whole.
Both parents have busy careers and work schedules that include meetings throughout the day, and Dad frequently travels for work Monday through Wednesday nights. Reliability and punctuality are incredibly important to them, as is finding someone who can confidently step in each morning and take ownership of the children’s day.
This is an active family that loves being out and about. They enjoy hiking, biking, museums, parks, classes, and exploring everything San Francisco has to offer. They take a screen-free approach with their children and want them to have childhoods filled with fresh air, experiences, social interaction, and plenty of fun.
They are also a close-knit family who values responsibility, respect, happiness, honesty, transparency, and teamwork. Mom especially appreciates organization, cleanliness, and preparedness and would love someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes initiative.
Their Ideal Candidate
First and foremost, they are looking for an excellent nanny. While this position includes Family Assistant responsibilities and has the potential to evolve into a broader Household Manager role in the future, exceptional childcare is the priority.
Their ideal candidate has strong experience with both infants and toddlers and is warm, positive, confident, and genuinely loves being with children. They are looking for someone who knows how to create engaging, developmentally appropriate days and enjoys getting out of the house for classes, parks, museums, playdates and adventures around the city.
The family currently has a nanny they absolutely love, and she has set a wonderful benchmark for the qualities they value most. She is incredibly proactive and self-directed. She sees what needs to be done and simply does it, whether that means preparing food, picking up groceries, unloading the dishwasher, organizing toys, or getting the children out for a fun day in the city.
Their search is simply a reflection of their family’s changing needs. Their current nanny has children of her own and is unable to accommodate more than 40 hours per week, travel, and the increased flexibility the family now requires.
They hope to find someone who brings that same sense of ownership and initiative while having the flexibility to grow with their family.
The right candidate will be extremely punctual, dependable, organized, and prepared. They should be comfortable working around two busy parents and have a natural sense of when communication is needed and when to independently manage the day. The family appreciates someone who is warm and personable but also comfortable giving parents space to work.
A confident city driver is essential, as is flexibility for overtime, overnights, and travel.
Responsibilities
Childcare will always come first, with responsibilities including:
Providing loving, attentive care for the family’s infant and toddler
Supporting developmental milestones and age-appropriate routines
Managing preschool drop-offs and pick-ups as needed
Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
Getting the children out for classes, parks, museums, playdates, and adventures
Creating an active, social and screen-free environment
Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
Supporting naps, feeding schedules and daily routines
Maintaining children’s laundry, toys, bedrooms, and belongings
Keeping children’s supplies organized and stocked
Encouraging age-appropriate independence and responsibility
Safely driving the children throughout San Francisco
Family Assistant Support
As the children’s schedules allow, particularly once their son begins preschool, the family would appreciate proactive household support including:
Children’s meal preparation
Grocery shopping
Loading and unloading the dishwasher
Children’s laundry
Organizing toys and children’s spaces
Keeping children’s supplies stocked and organized
Household errands
Helping maintain a tidy and organized home
Anticipating family and household needs without waiting to be asked
The scope of these responsibilities may naturally expand over time as the children grow and the nanny becomes familiar with the family and household.
Schedule & Flexibility
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, with 50 guaranteed hours per week.
Because of the 50-hour schedule, the position includes regular overtime compensation in accordance with applicable household employment laws.
Dad frequently travels for work Monday through Wednesday nights, so the family especially values someone who can offer flexibility when additional support is needed.
Candidates should also be comfortable with occasional overnights and schedule adjustments.
Travel
Travel is an important part of this position. The family travels both domestically and internationally, with destinations that may include Mexico, Utah, and Europe.
They are specifically looking for someone who has the flexibility and personal availability to travel with them and who genuinely enjoys the experience of traveling with a family and young children.
Driving & Transportation
The family provides a vehicle for work-related driving, and candidates must be confident and comfortable driving in San Francisco.
Parking in the neighborhood can be challenging, but the family has a parking permit available.
Long-Term Potential
The family is hoping to find someone who will truly grow with them.
The immediate priority is an exceptional nanny who can confidently care for an infant and toddler while providing thoughtful Family Assistant support. As both children get older and eventually spend more time in school, there is an opportunity for the position to naturally evolve into a more comprehensive Family Assistant or Household Manager role.
For someone who loves children, takes pride in being proactive and organized, enjoys travel and wants to become an integral part of a family for years to come, this could be a wonderful long-term opportunity.
To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.
Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.
Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.
Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
CPR certification (if applicable).
Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.
