THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Poppy Family!
About the Family
A warm, international family in Palo Alto, conveniently located near Downtown and Stanford, is looking for an exceptional co-nanny to join their established childcare team and help care for their three young children, currently ranging from infancy through preschool age.
At the heart of this family’s parenting philosophy is a desire for their children to always feel safe, loved, heard, and prioritized. They believe deeply in a growth mindset and in getting to know each child as an individual, recognizing that different children may need different things to thrive. They encourage independence, curiosity, active exploration, and exposure to a wide variety of people, cultures, activities, and experiences.
They are also thoughtful about creating a strong sibling relationship. Rather than comparing or creating competition between their children, they encourage them to see one another as teammates and celebrate what makes each child unique.
This is a family that deeply values their caregivers and believes in building long-term relationships. They have been fortunate to have wonderful nannies become an important part of their children’s lives, including one caregiver who has been with them for more than four years. Their childcare team works collaboratively, with consistency and open communication between the parents and caregivers.
Their home is active, international, and multilingual. They value different cultures, perspectives, and talents and would be especially excited to meet a nanny who speaks another language. Spanish, French, Portuguese, or another language would be a wonderful addition to their children’s environment.
Their Ideal Candidate
More than anything, this family wants someone who genuinely loves working with children and cannot imagine doing work that doesn’t involve helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
They are looking for a nanny with a warm, calming presence, someone who brings a sense of ease and steadiness to the household and can remain grounded even during the naturally busy moments that come with three young children.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, communicative, and low ego. Someone with a growth mindset who is receptive to feedback, comfortable learning from others, and able to work cohesively as part of an established nanny team will be especially successful here. Their experienced weekday nanny will serve as the lead nanny, so respect for established routines and consistency between caregivers is important.
The family believes in clearly communicated, lovingly enforced boundaries while also giving children space to ask questions, express their perspectives, and understand the “why” behind expectations. They would love a nanny who can confidently and calmly hold those boundaries while encouraging independence, curiosity, and age-appropriate exploration.
This is also an active family. Their ideal nanny enjoys getting down on the floor to play, heading outside, swimming, kicking a soccer ball, riding bikes, and engaging children physically as well as intellectually.
At the same time, they would love for their new nanny to bring something uniquely their own to the children’s lives. Perhaps you love swimming, dancing, sports, nature, music, art, or another activity you are excited to share. They value caregivers who bring their own strengths and interests while remaining collaborative with the larger team.
A background in education or child development would be highly valued, as would experience supporting children with different learning, attention, or developmental styles. A second language is a wonderful plus, and the ability to occasionally travel internationally with the family would be an added bonus.
