THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Poppy Family!
About the Family
A warm, welcoming, and deeply appreciative family in Lower Pacific Heights is seeking a long-term nanny to become an important part of their children’s lives as they transition into the next stage of childhood. After nearly a decade with their beloved nanny, who is retiring and relocating, they are hoping to find someone special to step into a role that has been central to their family’s daily life.
Their two school-age children are active, bright, social, and involved in a variety of activities throughout San Francisco. With both parents balancing demanding careers and frequent travel, they are looking for a true partner—someone who can provide consistency, reliability, structure, and connection during busy weeks while helping the household run smoothly.
What they loved most about their current nanny wasn’t just her dependability, although she was incredibly reliable and always available when needed. They appreciated her warmth, sense of humor, kindness, and the genuine relationship she built with the children over many years. As their children grow, the family’s needs are evolving as well. They are hoping to find someone who not only supports the children but also teaches them. Rather than simply doing things for them, they would love a nanny who encourages independence, confidence, responsibility, and life skills through everyday moments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with older children and wants to build meaningful long-term relationships with a family that values and appreciates exceptional childcare.
The Ideal Candidate
This family is looking for a nanny who strikes the perfect balance between warmth and authority. Someone calm, confident, emotionally intelligent, and who naturally earns children’s trust and respect without being overly strict or permissive.
Their ideal candidate is active, engaged, communicative, and proactive. They would love someone who enjoys spending time with school-age children, understands their growing independence, and can guide them through both the practical and emotional challenges of this stage of development.
A successful candidate will enjoy being involved—driving to activities, helping manage busy schedules, encouraging responsibility, supporting homework when needed, and creating opportunities for the children to learn important life skills. Whether teaching a child how to make a simple meal, manage their laundry, organize their belongings, or navigate friendships and big feelings, this family values a nanny who sees the bigger picture and understands the lasting impact they can have.
Most importantly, they are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building strong relationships, communicates openly with parents, and is excited about becoming a long-term part of a family’s support system.
Spanish-speaking is desirable and considered a great bonus, though not required, and our family is hoping to find someone who has their own vehicle they can use to drive the children.
