THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Poppy Family!
About the Family
Situated in Mill Valley, our active Poppy family is about to have their second child in December! They’re looking for a steady partner in their household for about 25-30 guaranteed hours per week. Care will focus on their newborn, although they prefer a versatile candidate who is also keen on spending fun afternoons with their 5-year-old son. The family values structure, strong communication, and someone who can integrate into an already busy rhythm. They prefer a nanny who values limited screen time and who focuses on developmental activities for both their children’s age groups. They believe in raising children with dignity, kindness, and responsibility, and want a caregiver who shares those values.
Their Ideal Candidate
They seek someone with strong infant and early school-age experience, someone who is organized, forward-thinking, and deeply communicative. This person should be calm under pressure, confident in problem-solving, and able to coordinate with an au pair and the parents. Cooking skills (or willingness to learn) are highly valued, especially for preparing healthy meals for the children. The ideal candidate blends warmth and attentiveness with clear boundaries and strong follow-through. Flexibility in schedule, tasks, and someone who would be interested in travel is a big plus.
Responsibilities
Care for their 5-year-old and the incoming baby, transitioning gently between developmental stages
Coordinate with the parents to maintain consistency in routines
Assist with simple, nutritious meal prep for the children; being comfortable in the kitchen is a bonus!
Keep children’s spaces tidy; maintain organized systems (diaper bags, toy areas, supplies)
Communicate proactively: alert parents to changes, needs, or observations
Help with transitions, school or activity needs, and structure
Occasionally assist with light household support in the children’s spaces
Travel or overnights as needed, with notice
Must-Have Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a must
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Impressive references from past employers
Willingness to undergo background checks and DMV check
Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination and boosters.
