A warm, thoughtful, and professional family in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond neighborhood is seeking an exceptional Career Nanny to care for their two young children.
Mom is an architect, and Dad is a scientist. Both parents place tremendous value on early childhood development, meaningful relationships, and creating a nurturing environment where their children can thrive. They have been fortunate to work with an extraordinary nanny who has played an instrumental role in their daughter’s early years, and they are hoping to find someone equally dedicated to becoming an important part of their children's lives.
The family has additional household support, including a housekeeper, allowing their nanny to focus primarily on providing attentive, enriching, and developmentally appropriate care.

The ideal candidate is a nurturing, emotionally intelligent, and experienced Career Nanny who genuinely loves working with children at different developmental stages. This family values a caregiver who approaches childcare with intention, patience, creativity, and a strong understanding of early childhood development.
They are particularly drawn to candidates with an educational background in child development or experience with RIE, Montessori, or other respectful, child-centered philosophies. Childcare Duties
Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for both children.
Create a stimulating, engaging environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, independence, and learning.
Incorporate RIE-inspired or Montessori principles into daily interactions, routines, and activities.
Support their daughter's emotional development through patient guidance, empathetic boundaries, and positive communication.
Establish a trusting, secure relationship with both children while respecting their individual personalities and developmental needs.
Plan age-appropriate activities, outings, sensory experiences, and opportunities for exploration.
Support their infant's developmental milestones, including feeding, sleep routines, tummy time, and emerging motor skills.
Thoughtfully balance the needs of both children, ensuring each receives individualized attention and engagement.
Maintain consistent routines while remaining flexible and responsive to the children's changing needs.
Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
Manage children's laundry, belongings, toys, and play spaces.
Maintain tidy, organized children's areas and encourage age-appropriate participation in daily routines.
Communicate openly with parents regarding developmental milestones, daily activities, and any emerging needs.
Family Assistant Duties
When childcare responsibilities allow, the family would appreciate light household and family assistance, including:
Helping maintain organization in children's spaces and shared family areas.
Keeping track of children's supplies, clothing needs, and household essentials.
Assisting with occasional family-related errands or organizational projects.
Providing proactive support with small household tasks that help the family's day run smoothly.
Childcare will always remain the primary responsibility, with family assistance provided as time permits.
Qualifications
Significant professional nanny experience, including caring for infants and preschool-aged children.
Strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate educational practices.
Background in early childhood education, child development, Montessori, or RIE strongly preferred.
Experience caring for multiple children at different developmental stages.
Confident in establishing respectful, consistent boundaries while supporting children's emotional well-being.
Warm, patient, emotionally attuned, and naturally engaging with young children.
Creative and proactive in planning meaningful, developmentally enriching activities.
Organized, dependable, and capable of independently managing daily routines.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with parents.
Professional, dedicated, and genuinely interested in a long-term position.
Comfortable working in a household with additional domestic support.
Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.
Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.
Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.
Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
CPR certification (if applicable).
Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.
