THEIR GENUINE NANNY

Meet Our Peony Family!

About the Family

A warm, busy family in Corte Madera is looking for an experienced, proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to join their household and care for their three young children, ages 18 months, 3 years, and 5 years.

The children attend three different schools/daycare programs, so this position is ideal for someone organized, comfortable juggling multiple schedules, and confident managing the logistics of a busy household with three young children.

The family currently has a wonderful au pair who will soon be returning to her home country. They have loved how proactive, caring, and invested she has been in their children and home. Ideally, their new nanny will begin before she leaves so there can be some overlap and a smooth transition.

Duties & Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Help the children get ready for the day and support the morning routine

  • Prepare and serve simple breakfasts, snacks, and children’s meals as needed

  • Help organize backpacks, school items, clothing, and anything needed for the children’s day

  • Drive the children safely to and from school, daycare, activities, appointments, and outings

  • Manage afternoon pickups from three different schools/daycare programs

  • Plan age-appropriate activities, outings, and experiences

  • Engage the children in play, reading, creative activities, outdoor time, and developmental activities

  • Support the children’s individual routines and developmental needs

  • Provide loving, attentive care while maintaining consistent and age-appropriate boundaries

  • Assist with bath time, dinner, and the evening routine

  • Keep children’s bedrooms, play areas, and common spaces organized and tidy

  • Manage children’s laundry, clothing, toys, and belongings

  • Help prepare for school, activities, travel, and other family needs involving the children

Family Assistant

During the hours when the children are at school or daycare, responsibilities may include:

  • Children’s laundry and household laundry as agreed upon

  • Organizing children’s clothing, toys, bedrooms, and play spaces

  • Light household tidying and resetting common areas

  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher

  • Grocery shopping and household errands

  • Children’s meal and snack preparation

  • Light family meal preparation as needed

  • Keeping household and children’s supplies stocked and organized

  • Preparing backpacks, activity bags, and items needed for upcoming days

  • Helping with returns, pickups, drop-offs, and other family errands

  • Maintaining organization throughout the household

  • Proactively noticing what needs attention and helping keep the family’s day-to-day routines running smoothly

Their Ideal Candidate

The family would love to find someone who is warm, capable, proactive, and genuinely invested in the children.

Their current au pair has set a wonderful example of the qualities they value most: she truly loves the children, takes initiative, notices what needs to be done, and consistently puts care into doing things well. They are hoping to find a nanny who brings that same sense of ownership and commitment to the role.

The ideal candidate has experience caring for multiple young children and can confidently move between the needs of an 18-month-old, 3-year-old, and 5-year-old. They should be playful and engaging while also being comfortable setting boundaries and providing structure.

They are looking for someone who is fully present with the children and not frequently on their phone, who thinks ahead, comes up with activities, and enjoys actively participating in the children’s lives.

A strong, safe driver is essential, as the children attend three different schools and programs. Organization, punctuality, reliability, and the ability to keep track of multiple schedules will be very important.

A natural “pitch-in” attitude is equally important. This family will appreciate someone who sees themselves as part of the household team and is happy to step in wherever needed.

Above all, they are hoping to find a loving, dependable, energetic, and highly capable Nanny / Family Assistant who can become a trusted and valued part of their family’s everyday life.

To ensure the success of our nanny position, we have established the following requirements:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of recent, professional experience in childcare.

  2. Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

  3. Impressive references from past employers, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and exceptional childcare skills.

  4. Willingness to undergo two background checks, namely Trustline and Nanny Verify, ensuring the safety and security of our children.

  5. Valid U.S. citizenship or work authorization.

  6. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  7. CPR certification (if applicable).

  8. Current vaccinations, including flu, Tdap, and proof of Covid-19 vaccination and boosters.
