THEIR GENUINE NANNY
Meet Our Carnation Family!
About the Family
A warm, thoughtful family in Orinda is looking for an experienced career nanny to become an important part of their son’s early childhood. They are hoping to find someone who genuinely loves working with toddlers and sees themselves as more than a caregiver. They are looking for a trusted partner who will encourage curiosity, foster confidence, and create joyful learning experiences throughout the day.
Their two year old is a bright, communicative little boy who loves music, exploring the world around him, books, and interactive play. The family appreciates a nanny who naturally incorporates learning into everyday moments through conversation, movement, art, and hands on experiences.
Mom works from home and values open communication, teamwork, and mutual respect. Grandparents visit periodically and are actively involved in their grandson’s life, creating a warm, multi generational family environment. The family also shares their home with a friendly Golden Retriever.
The schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional date nights offered with advance notice. A family vehicle will be available for transporting the child to activities and outings.
The Ideal Candidate
This position is perfect for a career nanny who has extensive toddler experience and a genuine passion for child development. The family would love someone who is calm, patient, playful, and naturally engaging. They appreciate a nanny who sings songs, reads stories, asks thoughtful questions, encourages independence, and turns everyday routines into opportunities for learning.
The ideal candidate is proactive without being overbearing, organized without being rigid, and able to balance warmth with excellent judgment. Someone with education or coursework in child development or early childhood education would be a wonderful fit, although hands on experience caring for toddlers in private homes is equally valued.
The family is especially drawn to caregivers who naturally embrace elements of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and attachment based caregiving. While they do not follow one formal philosophy, they value respect for children’s curiosity, emotional development, independence, and creativity.
