MEET NANNY: ERIN
Full-Time - San Francisco
My name is Erin, I'm a California native, have had over 5 years of nannying and family assistant experience, and would love to find another great family to work with! I have an educational background in Developmental Neuroscience and Educational Psychology, as well as work experience in Early Childhood Education, and I love to use this knowledge to thoughtfully cater activities to each child and their stages of development.
Outside of work and academics, I love to be in nature, visit local parks, play music, and do lots of different art and crafts, which I also find such joy in incorporating into playtime with kids. I value open and honest communication, a willingness to learn about different cultures and identities, play that de-centers screen time, and mutual respect for one another.

MY BELIEFS AS A GENUINE NANNY
I believe... Playtime in nature and off screens, using one's imagination, and following one's creative instincts are essential for well-rounded development and essential for joy!
I believe... It is important to respect and be willing to learn about and from differing cultures and identities to form informed opinions and develop a sense of empathy and care for others.
I believe... Nannying requires mutual respect, open communication, and lots of care and trust on both sides of the family and nanny.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A NANNY?
Beginning in my teenage years as a babysitter and going on to nanny professionally, I have found such joy in getting to know families and their children, learning about each child's personality, watching them grow, and doing what I can to foster their development and joyful childhood. Coming from a family that was lucky enough to have grandparents that were willing and able to spend so much time caring for my siblings and I while my parents were at work, and seeing how many people do not have that privilege, I love to be able to be in this industry and provide families with the extra care they are looking for for their children. I understand first-hand the difficulty of balancing work and childcare and life as a whole, and also know the critical nature of the childhood years for development, and find such fulfillment in being able to care for children in this time and see them grow into their own incredible people.
PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY, STRENGTHS,
WORK ETHIC, AND VALUES:
I am a very ambitious and detail-oriented person who puts lots of thought into how I interact with children and how I carry out my professional responsibilities. I really value taking time to understand people and their backgrounds and experiences, using that to foster a safe space of respect and empathy. I can be introverted and do enjoy quiet time listening to music and doing art, but I also am quite extroverted around those that I know well and am comfortable with, and love to experience live music and cultural events when possible.
