GENUINE NANNY: GABRIELLE P.

Full-time - East Bay, San Francisco

MEET OUR AMBITIOUS, BUBBLY, AND CARING
GENUINE NANNY GABRIELLE!

I have been a full-time nanny for almost two years working a minimum of 45 hours a week on top of full-time school while obtaining a 3.9 GPA. I am currently a nursing major and hopefully, one day can pursue speculating in pediatrics. I am athletic and enjoy working out 6X a week. I have competed in bodybuilding competitions and would love to compete again if the time is right. I value nutrition and fitness a lot, I used to major in it until I switched but still love talking about the subject and helping others whether it’s writing meal plans for close friends and family members to helping them in the gym with proper form/technique.

MY BELIEFS AS A GENUINE NANNY

I believe... in safety.

I believe... in communication.

I believe... in integrity.

PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY, STRENGTHS,
WORK ETHIC, AND VALUES:

I would define my personality as being ambitious. I go after what I want because I believe in the power of mindset. I am outgoing, friendly, caring, nurturing, and optimistic. I think my personality ties into my work ethic and values because I carry those strong and great traits that have led me to be an individual who can be consistent, show that I care about others in my work environment, and be optimistic as soon as I walk in the door regardless of whatever I am dealing with in my life.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A NANNY?

I want to be a nanny because I value the relationships I have had in the past with families. I love watching children grow up, hit their first milestones, get to know them, and watch them experience the greatness that life has to offer. I believe that children are the future. If they are to become the next leaders and have a better life, we as caregivers need to give them every ounce of love, attention, and the learning they need. This is incredibly crucial for their development, especially from a young age.

WHAT IS YOUR COMMUNICATION STYLE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR EMPLOYERS? ANY EXAMPLES TO SHARE?

The communication style I prefer would be face-to-face or over text/ call. My current boss is the CEO of her own company so I understand not every time she can talk to me face to face if there's an issue or question she's seeking. Her preferred communication style is via text. I am open to different styles of communication for whatever is more convenient for the family.

WHAT TYPE OF NANNY ROLE ARE YOU LOOKING FOR AND WHAT ENVIRONMENT YOU WOULD BE MOST SUCCESSFUL IN

The nanny role I am looking for has great communication, trustworthiness, and flexibility. Based on my experience, I would be most successful in any environment where the family values these traits within their home.

PLEASE DESCRIBE HOW YOU HAVE TAKEN INITIATIVE IN YOUR PAST NANNY POSITIONS.

Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities: such as outdoor activities like kicking a ball, going on different playground equipment that's appropriate for the children, and taking them to age-appropriate indoor activities. Tidying up: I understand the primary responsibility is to care for the children, and taking the initiative to tidy up the play area or do some light cleaning has been appreciated by busy parents who have things to do. I have also offered to help with additional tasks beyond my usual duties, such as preparing meals, running errands, doing laundry, and deep cleaning/ organizing rooms within the house.

WHAT ARE YOUR DISCIPLINE PHILOSOPHY AND CHILD-REARING VALUES?

Discipline philosophy would include Positive reinforcement: since I believe in rewarding good behavior rather than punishing bad behavior. I believe in encouraging children when they exhibit positive behavior, such as sharing or following rules. Child Rearing values would include respect by encouraging children to treat others with kindness and empathy and to communicate their needs and feelings in a respectful manner. Independence because I believe it encourages children to develop self-help skills, such as dressing themselves or taking on age-appropriate responsibilities. Also, being open-minded gives children the to explore different cultures, beliefs, and perspectives, and to embrace diversity. Lastly, safety is my biggest value overall because this can lead to unknown fatal accidents that can occur.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE AS A NANNY OR WHILE WORKING WITH A FAMILY?

The biggest challenge for me would be managing conflicts with parents over issues such as discipline, scheduling, or compensation, that is why for me communication is a huge factor for me. I believe if communication is present, then we can communicate effectively and professionally resolve any conflict.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES & INTERESTS?

My hobbies include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, working out, snowboarding, hiking , backpacking, and swimming.

WHAT MAKES YOU SPARKLE?

What makes me sparkle is being confident, happy, and passionate about what I have achieved academically and personally such as competing in fitness competitions and still giving my 100%.
