A warm and thoughtful family in Presidio Heights is seeking exceptional career caregivers to help build a long-term childcare team for their infant son.
This is a substantial, high-level position designed for experienced professionals who genuinely love caring for babies and enjoy becoming trusted partners to the families they support. The family is looking for consistency, expertise, warmth, and long-term fit above all else.
Their overall childcare needs extend from approximately 7:00 AM–7:00/8:00 PM, two weeks on, two weeks off, with additional flexibility for occasional later evenings, overnight care, and family travel.
Dad travels frequently for work, while Mom works part-time and is actively involved in their son’s care. She is looking for caregivers who are comfortable partnering closely with her—bringing knowledge and expertise to the role while respecting and supporting her role as a parent.
The family anticipates approximately monthly travel and would love to find caregivers who are comfortable accompanying them both domestically and internationally.

At the heart of this position is a family looking to create a warm, secure, and engaging environment for their baby as he grows.
Mom especially values a caregiver who brings significant infant experience without being rigid or prescriptive. She appreciates someone knowledgeable and curious who can thoughtfully share ideas, research developmental topics when helpful, and offer feedback in a calm and approachable way.
The nanny should be equally comfortable taking complete responsibility for the baby when needed and working collaboratively alongside Mom, grandparents, and another caregiver. This family values open communication and wants their nanny team to feel comfortable exchanging information, sharing observations, and creating consistency for their son.
This is very much a child-focused position. The family is not looking for general household support; they want their caregivers’ attention centered on their baby, his development, and maintaining his environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal nanny is a polished and highly experienced career professional with significant recent infant experience and a genuine love for this stage of childhood.
This is someone who enjoys the hands-on nature of caring for a baby—holding and carrying him, engaging with him throughout the day, observing developmental changes, introducing enriching experiences, and creating a responsive and affectionate environment.
A Newborn Care Specialist background or certification is highly valued, although substantial hands-on newborn and infant experience may be equally compelling.
The family is looking for someone who is confident but not overbearing, knowledgeable but still curious, and proactive while remaining respectful of the parents’ preferences. They would love a nanny who continues to learn, researches when appropriate, and can share their experience without taking a rigid “this is how I’ve always done it” approach.
Collaboration will be especially important. The right person will communicate beautifully with the parents and other caregivers, understand when to step in and when to give Mom space, and genuinely enjoy being part of a team.
Above all, the family hopes to find caregivers who see exceptional childcare as more than completing a list of duties. They are looking for people who will become deeply invested in their son’s well-being and development and approach the relationship as a long-term partnership with the family.
CHILD RELATED DUTIES
Providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate infant care
Offering plenty of physical affection, holding, carrying, and one-on-one engagement
Supporting developmental milestones through age-appropriate play, activities, classes, and outings
Creating a warm, responsive, and secure environment
Preparing bottles, feedings, and baby meals as developmentally appropriate
Managing the baby’s laundry and maintaining an organized nursery
Cleaning and organizing bottles, feeding supplies, toys, and other baby-related items
Maintaining exceptionally high standards around infant safety, cleanliness, and organization
Researching age-appropriate activities, developmental resources, products, and baby-related needs when helpful
Driving the child to activities, classes, appointments, and outings
Establishing and maintaining age-appropriate routines while remaining adaptable to the family’s evolving needs
Communicating openly with the parents regarding the baby’s development, schedule, milestones, and day-to-day needs
Collaborating closely with another nanny or caregiver to ensure consistency and continuity of care
Traveling domestically and internationally with the family
Maintaining the baby’s routines and organization while traveling
Providing occasional evening, overnight, and extended childcare coverage
QUALIFICATIONS
Significant professional nanny experience with infants
Strong, recent hands-on newborn and infant experience
Newborn Care Specialist certification or background is highly valued
Strong knowledge of infant development and age-appropriate milestones
Warm, affectionate, and genuinely nurturing
Calm, confident, and emotionally intuitive

REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
Flexibility for travel, evenings, overnights, and extended care based on the agreed-upon staffing structure
